literally 32% percentage point lead holy fuck. The way the mainstream media talk about trump nowadays you’d think chuds had cancelled him and joined the libs at brunch

God damn, I thought he and Desantis were neck-and-neck with the media coverage.

I also thought that. Are they manufacturing a desantis win this time like they did for trump in 2016, giving way more coverage than is due? Because holy fuck please don’t do that Trump is so much less evil than DeSantis

Its going to be interesting if Trump runs. I don’t think capital wants him, thats why media is pushijg Desantis. But without interference Trump would he the republican nominee hamds down. It’ll be interesting to see how far capital is willing to and able to stop it

Also I really don’t see Trump & supporters getting behind whoever the establishment chooses the way Bernie did in 2020

Dumbass libs are going to pump the competent fascist against Trump and then cheer when/if he beats him.

Unless Trump becomes noticably too sick to run, I can’t imagine him losing

At least a third of republicans think Trump won the 2020 election (lowballing hard here), I can’t imagine people dumping him for someone who looks more presentable

But how can Trump be elected a third time if he’s already won twice? :bean-think:

DeSantis is a lot more frightening a prospect

He’s not going to do anything meaningfully different than any other Republican. The only reason he’s polling so well now is because he’s shamelessly flinging out red meat. But as soon as he’s in office, he’ll have what he wants and move entirely to enriching himself and his cronies.

Trump did the same shit. A few weeks of red meat that mostly got thrown out in courts, followed by Bush-tier policies complete with as much of the original administration as he could pull together.

If anything, I might argue things will get better under DeSantis than Biden simply because DeSantis has enough of a populist streak to give people what they actually want.

DeSantis is more of a true believer in all of that red meat he throws out

He’s definitely free about pandering. But the hard right turn before a primary is very normal in Republican circles.

Bush ran as small government, deficit hawkish, and anti-war in 2000. He did a full 180 even before 9/11.

If the Dems and the media want to push Trump republicans to get people to vote Dem in the general, why don’t they support Trump running in the general?
