i haven’t been on this site in over a year, hope everyone is doing good
I’m naturally introverted, so I don’t go out much except for work and visiting family, and I’ve gotten sick twice. It feels inevitable at this point, I don’t know anybody who has cared about stopping the spread in the past year, so I just try not to think about it too hard
Thank goodness for testing tho, I was recently able to isolate quickly enough that none of my roommates got sick
In 1800 everything was made of wood and healthcare was getting whisky during your amputation, no shit things were different then
Happy new year everybody!!! I just watched Tokyo Godfathers, it’s a movie about 3 homeless people who find a baby in the dumpster and learn the true meaning of Christmas. I’m still trying to figure out exactly what it means in my own life but everyone should check it out when they get a chance
I’m confused to how “official” it is, but check out the album Sonic Arcade which is 90s German EDM themed around Sonic and I think it’s cool
I think about this concept when it comes to left-wing talking points in media. I recently started Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys and it makes interesting points on celebrity culture, politics, and the police, but if nobody watching it starts their own terror cell, why would Bezos care? The jester is just here to keep people entertained, and he’s doing a great job
I’ve been cutting down on social media use lately, lots of “good ideas for posts” have turned into “interesting thoughts I’ve had” and I never have to reword the idea to be more understandable, or decide what audience would be interested in this idea the most, or come back to my thought to check how many likes it got
It feels ironic to make this post since I’ve been thinking about the concept a lot, but I feel that sharing too many of your own thoughts online can be harmful, getting point-based feedback for every human thought you have can be unhealthy. It can reshape your thoughts to try to be more marketable and can get you really defensive when 30% of people disagree with your mildly controversial take
Does this make any sense? Am I stating the obvious? Or is it just that I’m bad at persuasive writing and normal people can get their thoughts out just fine? Idk
