It feels like a love letter to early 2000’s 4kids anime. The cheesy dialogue, hammy voice acting, buttmetal music. The early volumes were my favorite because they didn’t take themselves too seriously and were mostly an excuse to show off the unique fight choreography.
My issues with it are the same I have with the Harry Potter series. The mood change to grimdark and the world being big but unexplored. the world being unexplored lends itself to good fan fiction and fan art though.
I still see gamer references to that one journalist sucking at cup head. If I remember he wasn’t even a gaming journalist but an electronics journalist who ended up praising the game anyway.
Mr. The 2019 coup in Bolivia wasn’t a coup.

There’s been a lot of pit bull controversy in my area lately. The local indigenous group has been hunting them down after strays killed two kids and an old man from their community. Seems to keep the teenage boys occupied.
People get them thinking they’re badass and don’t bother training them. They can be very stubborn breeds, as most terriers are. And then the idiots just let them maul people’s pets and act shocked when the fucking things get shot or maced in response.
They’re also very popular with chuds here.
I’m a huge sucker for JRPG’s. One of the first emulators I had was a SNES one that was stuffed with JRPG’s. I spent hours playing them over and over. I still get a weird tinge of nostalgia when I hear sounds from Chrono Trigger
