You ever think about how black culture is simultaneously pervasive over the entire world, foundational to memes, slang, food, musicx999, sports, and cinema but it’s also so highly correlated with poverty and being underneath someone’s heel? I don’t think any of the surrounding countries do apartheid or have miscegenation laws. How liberals can say it’s the most progressive country in the region is bonkers. The closest thing I can point to is Saudi Arabia’s genocide of Yemenis (Which is backed by America) and Turkey’s genocide of Kurds (Turkey is in NATO). Israel is still wildly right wing even in comparison to places like Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, etc.
