Yes, I’m also confused about this. I’m hearing a lot of people talk about how the midterms were a total success for the Dems but from all I can tell, they lost the House and they can’t possibly get those mythical 2 senators Joe Biden was asking for to counteract Manchin and Sinema. Of course that’s all academic since the second Dems have a majority in congress a few more Manchins crawl out of some alcove to play spoiler, because the Democratic Party does not know how to wield power.
i think part of it is how Dems were supposed to lose way worse. But it shows how white liberals think when they think losing control was actually a very savvy political move.
Both parties lose the midterms when they have the Presidency. Which is why Dems gained seats in 2018 when Trump was there. Usually they also lose a bunch of governorships and state legislatures but Democrats actually gained some this time
Basically it’s a huge contrast to the 2010 midterms
The GOP wins in so far as they can stop anything from happening and flog the President for being useless for two years while they rile up their base. The Dems win because they don’t have to do anything and can just vibe for two years. Actual people lose because this fucking country.
