ok, off topic but does anyone want to talk about how weird the UAP stuff is?

If you’re kinda out of the loop here’s a few things. The US government has basically acknowledged encountering (fairly regularly too) flying objects which preform maneuvers that known human aircraft cannot do. They claim it’s not American.

It’s just weird cause with that acknowledgment there’s only a few outcomes: 1 - it’s Russian or Chinese (lmao who would actually believe this outside of the most brainwormed nat-sec ghouls) 2 - it’s American and they don’t want to acknowledge this. But if the Americans could build hypersonic tic-tacs that can stop on a dime, why are they still fucking around with fixed wing drones? 3 - it’s a psy-op. This doesn’t make a ton of sense to me cause it’s so outlandish. It’d be like saying we need to invade Iraq cause Saddam Hussein is holding Santa Claus hostage. 4 - The government is bad at their jobs and can’t recognize mundane objects and misinterprets them as extraordinary. totally possible. 5 - its aliens.

I was listening to NPR this morning and they had to include that “there were allegations of RoCk ThRoWiNg” when reporting on this bit. The host literally interrupted his guest to say this.

kind of a miss - its from a fiction series by a Chinese author. But Americans do love to apply this specific case from a work of fiction to be universal.

I’ve seen it from people who are way too into Stirner or Nietzsche and more focused on ““anti-authoritarianism”” than anti-capitalism or anything.

I saw this a while ago and I’ll try to paraphrase it, but I probably won’t get it exactly right. In the pre-Russian revolution era the Russians had pretty extensive correspondences with western European communists, and they had major disagreements about the course of revolution. The western Marxists wanted the Russians to not have a revolution, as they believed that following Marxist historiography a revolution needed to happen in an industrial core, not in an extractive/agrarian economy. The business of industrializing an economy will always be ugly, and they feared a Revolutionary Russian state rushing this process would poison the well of communism with the misery that would create. Better to let the capitalists take the blame for the suffering of industrialization and then have the communists come in, seize the MOP and reap the rewards.

Of course, the Leninists didn’t listen, did their revolution, and went through the fairly unpleasant process of industrializing, but in the end were successful and were able to beat the industrialized Germans. China had a fairly similar process with a revolution happening within an agrarian, extractive, and extremely poor economy, and they’ve also had to deal with mechanizing their economy, which took a different path, but again has been pretty successful.

It would be nice if the communists had gone and won a revolution in France or Germany or England in the late 19th or early 20th centuries, but so far communists have only had success in the colonized world and not in the industrialized metropole. And that means that communists have had to do the ugly work of industrialization, and suffer the blame of that process.

my theory is that they used the time he spent in the hospital to set up a medical facility in the white house, so he can undergo any treatment needed while pretending to be healthy and quarantining,

not only in relation to western peer countries that are “softer on crime” than the US, but don’t forget that the US has a proportionately bigger incarcerated population than the AuThOrItArIaN regimes that the state department is so opposed to. The US even has a bigger outright prison population than China.

yes thank god someone else is saying it. everyone always acts like it’s the smartest shit they’ve ever heard when it’s pretty poorly thought out.

what if you were a civilization that made von neumann probes and sent them out to every star system in 100 light years. If you found someone with technology you don’t have to send the signal directly back to your home world, you can bounce it between a dozen probes at different stars before sending it home and no one will know where you live.

these nerds have never heard of a VPN I guess.

if he’s as bad as they say he is, it’s their moral imperative to k*ll him. It’s like how you have to off hitler if you have a time machine.
