I’m not a nationalist, I hate my nation’s capitalist government, but I agree wholeheartedly with anything it has to say about other countries - especially socialist ones.

Every single time, without fail, they assume, as though more certain than they are of their own existence, that the person raising the (valid) point is a republican. Despite the blatantly transparent fact that the statement in question never invokes ‘the libs’, ‘triggered’, ‘maga’, or tags all of the alphabet security agencies, they always fucking rattrap themselves into thinking that anything other than facile patronisation is tantamount to fully supporting whatever it is they’re chastising.
How do they see something like “consequences of capitalism” and still think “Hurr, durr, REPUBLICAN! NEXT!”?

isn’t this the show where the chinese tourists are like “all this land shouldn’t belong to one person” and the big macho guy is like “yeah, well, this is like america, bro”

In more based news, I work in Manchester which bought one of Ukraine’s Engels statues, which now stands in the city centre. Also the guardian wrote a shitpiece about it being muh ebil gommunist propaganda but who gives a ghostly fuck about those spectre-fearing sacks of moist shit

I’m guessing the “ethnic German” actually means they’re Americans with German great-great-great-great-grandparents

I remember when I was a kid, Bill Gates had a net worth of about $45b and claimed he was done with business and was now a full-on rapist philanthropist, and I remember wondering how long it would take to give all those billions away.
Alas, he now has over $130b, so it seems charity was more profitable than I realised.

Literally the most efficient form of land-based transport ever invented. Steel wheels on steel rails have very low rolling resistance.
NAH, it’s bad because you can’t clog up the lines with masses of inefficient, tiny, personal trains.
Also, you have to dig through hills and mountains to lay track - you definitely don’t need to do that for highways (except for all the ones that you do)

I remember reading about Gorbachev for the first time and pissing myself laughing.
The guy’s an absolute buffoon who thought it would be sensible to do social democracy in the communist country. He fell for Yeltsin and the gang swearing allegiance, only for them to usurp him and do a bit of oligarchic rapid neoliberalism instead, leaving him the equivalent of a human pikachu meme.
The pizza hut ads and shit were his way of making money to continue his cause of ‘advancing social democracy’, which was now all but dismantled in the west now that the bulwark of communism was gone.

Yeltsin is a wild ride too, considering his family were kulaks and unlike basically every communist official, he didn’t join the party until he was like 30. It’s like, if anyone had paid any attention to him throughout his career, even a child could have said “this is the one, officer - this is the counter-revolutionary right here”
