I definitely should have provided more context for this post and explained their further behaviour more. In a comment before this he uses his logic here to argue against “special treatment” for LGBT+ people for example, by which he means LGBT charities, pride, gay spaces, etc. I should have included more of that as the lack of context for his remarks makes it look like Im attacking the guy for having a fairly nuanced take on sexuality - which wasn’t my intention
I mean, he’s right, mostly. You know why they use the “men who have sex with men” label and what not.
Gay is an adjective. Two men having sex is gay sex. But those men aren’t necessarily gay men. They could be experimenting and about to find out they don’t care for it, or they could be “gay for pay” doing porn as he mentioned.
Isn’t that basically just being closeted?

I feel like the fact he’s advocating for an abolition of sexual binaries in favour of a more complex understanding of sexuality- which is good and something I 100% agree on - but then goes out of his way to insist he’s straight in this and multiple comments following is completely bizarre
Idk I thought it was either poorly performative suggesting they have a nuanced approach to sexuality and then immediately reinforcing said binary or some bizarre mental gymnastics to justify their own feelings whilst still claiming “no homo”

In another comment he gets mad someone suggests that “even you could be a little gay, it’s a sliding scale” and reiterates his straight credentials. Idk I missed too much of the context with this and ended up looking like I’m attacking a guy for having a pretty good take on sexuality. Lesson learned.
They probably specified that they were straight because they knew the regular shitheaded reaction to this very correct opinion is “lmao you’re just gay man, just admit your gay lol” which was exactly what you then said
