I am wary of Pokémon Sleep. I’m suspicious that the Pokémon Company has spent time and money developing this app, but they’re mostly general suspicions, i.e. they’re obviously harvesting sleep data, but I’m unsure of what they do with it after that. Likely sell it on? Or catalogue it with other data they have on people via apps like Pokémon Go?

Does anyone have any insight into what apps like these can do with all of this health data?

It just feels like a form of continuous engagement. Not about sleep per say. But now you’re training kids to look at Pokemon just before bed and look at it again the moment they wake up.

Tattooing the idea of Pokemon into people’s brains so they never stop wanting to consume it.
