IIRC some EU comic writer created a character with the last name Bater in a long play to eventually have them become a Jedi Master so other characters would have to address them as Master Bater
This is my favorite star wars novel, but I wasn’t a commie when I read it. Incredible scene though, Scout is a great character and the tournament stuff is a really effective way of squaring midichlorians with the force as a spiritual thing
The audiobook read by Jonathan Davis is great. Davis is one of my favorite audiobook narrators, he’s as much voice actor as narrator, gives a whole emotional performance when he reads. Everyone’s got different tastes, of course, but for me the performance really adds to the work. I think it’s a great way to revisit a book I’ve already read, especially for a shorter book like this.

Yoda: Dark Rendezvous is one of the extremely rare Star Wars licensed novels that is also a good book in its own right.
Not really germane to this thread, but
I’ve read probably close to twenty Star Wars novels. Most of them are very bad books. Bad, but entertaining. It’s the Star Wars way. That’s also just the nature of licensed IP novels. They’re written on assignment on an extremely short deadline and run down a very short production schedule, very little editing. They’re nearly all naked cash grabs not even trying to be art, really. So it’s amazing that there are ever any that go above and beyond their remit and not only try to be good books, but actually succeed. I’d point to something like the Darth Bane trilogy as books that are actually trying to be more than just a cash grab but ultimately aren’t very good.

Yo, glad to see some representation. I’m not sure I would agree that it’s a good book “in its own right”, but it takes the material from Episode 3 and makes it coherent which is quite the literary feat.
Also, no Karen Traviss? Her take on Star Wars was always my favorite.
