It’s a shopping website that wants you to spend as much time as possible every day playing Facebook browser games to earn fake currencies that get you 2% off some items

That’s what’s always made the focus on realism in Rockstar’s post-San Andreas output feel hollow to me. All of these cool things exist but they’re just there for you to amuse yourself with. Maybe one day I’ll try some of those ultrarealism mods for GTAIV

I haven’t dared to start playing RDR2 yet, but how much of a simulation is it actually? The thing that frustrates me about Rockstar games is that for all the insane level of attention they put into the most minute of details, the simulation elements just kind of awkwardly float on top of incredibly loose arcadey gameplay and can safely be ignored because the games need to be able to be completed by dads who only ever buy like 3 games for their consoles

In a just world Rockstar’s budget and resources would be redistributed to like the Stalker devs to create the most lavish Slavjank game in existence

Meanwhile I, as someone who actually did play on PS1 as a kid, always try to get rid of polygon warping, dithering, etc while also cranking up the resolution when emulating PS1 games. Like the things that I liked about old games weren’t that they ran at 20 fps and were rendered at a postage stamp-sized resolution

Maybe you should try the first game since it’s a bit more cartoony/GTAy in its tone

Revelations is probably the silliest Resident Evil game which is saying a lot. Everything’s cartoony and ridiculous

They dedicated a whole subplot to two bumbling over-the-top comic relief sidekicks, one of whom talks in an exaggerated nerd voice and is named Jackass

But at least Wesker just dresses like he’s in the Matrix

It’s not a little anime, it’s a lotta anime. My problem with it is that it looks like it’s from the 1930s or 40s, just wildly out of place in a modern setting

A scuba suit with built-in high heeled boots… well, boot is certainly an inspired design

The third one looks like it’s straight out of a Valkyria Chronicles game or something. It’s almost the most out of place outfit out of all of them
