This is an example of why defunding the police shouldn’t even be controversial. Just taking an evidence-based approach shows we should have a radically different police force than we do now.
Btw people I know who don’t know much about history are shocked when I explain that the whole concept of “police” is a thoroughly modern invention and humans have gotten along fine without them. A lot of people think the way we police now is more or less how it’s always been done.
