My brother’s death was exactly five years ago today. The government refused to let him participate in a clinical trial for ketamine—literally the only thing he ever took that made him functional for a while—because our (absent) father made too much money. So he ordered it off the dark web. It had fentanyl in it. Thanks, Canada. Extremely cool. Love to means test mental health.

If nothing else, his death helped me transition from a dipshit liberal to a furious communist. I now know that there are people responsible for his death. And they have names, and addresses. And, I swear to God, if I ever meet them, I’m going to do An Adventurism.

:meow-hug:

My brother’s death was just over two years ago. Mine was given opiates like candy as a teen after getting into a car wreck, later became an alcoholic, and died in his mid 20s. Shit sucks, and I’m sorry comrade.

video game morality systems be like: do you want to kill this guy like an evil person? y/n

meanwhile to get to this choice you’ve slaughtered about 300 people, but they weren’t worthy of moral consideration

Right? I got like eight crystal gems in my pocket. One trip to the turtle pope and I can fix this.

Also we both killed like a million regular soldiers and there was no shade there

Do you want to save world or do a genocide?

deep moral questions is whether you nuke an entire town for no real reason or you just don’t do that because it would be fucked up

i’ve been playing swtor and it’s never more apparent how arbitrary these systems are than in a bioware mmo

the worst morality system in gaming and the small-scale genocide of mmorpg gameplay

A place for optimism, relentless positivity, anti-doomerism, and snuggle sessions.

We’re all in this together, and a better world is possible!

This is now also a space for organizing tips for our collective survival as we confront climate change and everything else. Still no doom-posting. We’re here to work together, support each other, and boldly face the future.

Rules:

  1. Familiarize yourself with the site-wide Code of Conduct

  2. No doom, no gloom, only bloom. There’s plenty of room for doomerism elsewhere. This community is solely for having a positive outlook on the future and spreading good vibes.

  3. Be kind to your fellow users. This also means no arguing in the comm. Arguments and negativity are not conducive to blooming. Constructive discussion is good. No interest-policing. Support your comrades in their joy!

  4. Always share good news. We can’t exactly enforce this one, but if you have good news, please share it with us! Keeping happiness and positivity to yourself is the twelfth type of liberalism.
