The Iron Front: definitely an organisation that guarded democracy in Weimar Germany and absolutely did not enable the fascists to kill everyone left of Hitler.
Fun fact. When Hitler took power he came for the communists and socialists and anarchists but for some reason left the social democrats alone.
The KDP (German communist party) was outlawed and declared disbanded through out the nazi regime, yet for some reason the SDP (German socdem party) was completely legal and allowed to participate in the German parliamentary system.

Huh I remember reading somewhere that there was a portion of the party and its leadership kept in power in nazi germany with stipulations they work for the greater glory of the German reich. I think I’ll need to search for that info again

A better example of this is how the Nazis allowed the social democratic prime minister stay in office when they occupied Denmark while they demanded that the communists should be banned. The bourgeois and succdem parties happily complied.

It’s a sub we might be able to effectively brigade, actually. Small enough that a modest concerted effort could make a big difference, has enough proto-socialists that some part of the userbase would be receptive, and at least has one good instinct (anti-fascism) to play on.
