If people are dead-set on not having an emoji of the burning flag of a genocidal, settler-colonialist state due to religious iconography (not like we we have or anything), you can have the fire over the center of the flag so the star of David technically isn’t burning
I think it isn’t due to it being religious in general but its relation to the Holocaust specifically. We should probably also avoid fire with a Latin cross specifically because of Klan cross-burning (Greek crosses, etc. are distinctly different and don’t have the same history).
Rethink having a burning star of David as a site emoji. You’re not missing anything, you can express all anti Israel and antizionist sentiment you want, and detail it with if you’d like. You’re not missing anything and you understand just fine why this site doesn’t need an emoji like that.

Thanks for just assuming I’m posting in bad faith. Love to be patronized
I’m not saying you’re an antisemite, I’m saying the reason is pretty obvious, no? I’m ESL, I have a hard time conveying tone in English text.
What’s the IOF
Hard agree with OP. “Precious” is a good word to describe it. It’s a symbol of genocide at this point.
so i fully agree with you that its silly and plays into zionist propaganda. last year there was the whole thing about the israeli and american flag getting banned from a pride parade, and the story was reported and spread as the star of david getting banned and people were attacking the organizers and no one fucking waited for the explanation. like this is why they put it there.
but im not jewish so my opinion doesnt matter at all. whatsoever. it doesnt matter even one percent. I dont have to understand something to respect it.
