Didn’t see anyone else post this, but there have been major student-led protests in Bangladesh in recent days. Many student protestors have died, and I’ve seen reports of state police kidnapping people. The protests stem largely from an employment quota system for veterans of the war with Pakistan and their children (and children’s children), and not enough jobs for them all. The state has asked universities to close. Students are aiming for a “complete shutdown” of the country, save for emergency services.
