Details of the experiment, previously disclosed only in broad outline, were contained in a 71-page report of the Army’s Special Operations Division at Fort Detrick, Md.

👁️

It was released under the Freedom of Information Act in response to a request by the Church of Scientology.

wait what

Edit: I read the rest of the article and it does not explain this. There’s no further mention of the FoIA request, scientology, or why they were looking into this.

Also, there’s this interesting bit:

According to the report, which cited the existence of subways in the Soviet Union, Europe and South America as well as the United States, the tests were conducted not only to assess the vulnerability of subway systems to covert biological attack, but also to determine “methods of delivery that could be used offensively.”

The actual answer btw is that you can’t revoke anyones citizenship if they were born in the u.s. It’s actually kinda interesting and goes back to slavery and the dred scott decision, where the supreme court ruled that slaves and their decedents couldn’t be citizens. In response, after the civil war when they were drafting the 14th amendment they added the “citizenship clause” which granted automatic citizenship to everyone born in the united states. So basically because the point of this amendment was to give certain people citizenship regardless of what congress or the government say, the supreme court later ruled in Afroyim v Rusk that congress can’t revoke the citizenship of anyone born in the us. Although, interestingly, the court later ruled in Rogers v. Bellei that congress could revoke the citizenship of someone born outside the us to american parents since that citizenship doesn’t come from the citizenship clause

IIRC I think it was just helping people with filling out forms and updating their chinese drivers licences and stuff like that, because in china it’s not the sole function of the police to enact violence and oppression, which confused the FBI

Also they weren’t even police they were like volunteers acting as liaisons who you could go to for in-person stuff when travel restrictions were in place. Also I think the obstruction of justice charge was for the volunteers deleting their group chat when they found out they were under investigation

| Watching a post-season game

Watching tv after 10 is bad unless you’re watching the sort of tv I watch after 10, in which case it’s ok.
