lmao that is what they do, eh? I wouldn’t call myself deleuzian (or maybe that’s exactly why I am lol). I do highly value Marx, Lenin, the dialectic, etc. I just want to be capable of avoiding a static position and accepting many paths. I’ve been called too anarchist for that, and I get it. I support most existing socialism, but I see being a “body without organs” as a great way to maintain socialism above the normal discussions of politics and confronting material conditions and other “real” things without dogmatically assuming unnecessary positions.

I’ve read Zizek enough to understand generally, but this metaphysics always result in me feeling lost without any way to move forward (sort of the trap that Deleuze was highlighting). So what’s your opinion there?

That last line of yours is a great view of revolutionary optimism, imo. I’ll support any movement that is improving material conditions outside of capitalism and fascism, and it gives me hope to imagine not needing to convince all the normal people that Stalin was right to convince them that we are trying to make the world better lol

Yeah Pratchett was obviously skeptical of a lot of dogmas/ideologies (one book in the Rincewind series mocking a terribly organized people’s revolution) but overall doesn’t have much problematic that I noticed. The discworld series is such a good collection. To start, Small Gods has some great jokes on philosophy/religion/politics with some good content to them and a pretty damn engaging set of characters

Anyone know of any theory I could read to understand better the “pleasure” of being able to decipher liberal politics? Like deeper than just “they like to fit in” unless that’s the deepest it goes.

As a reformed lib, I can remember the feeling of “grasping” the happenings of politics and feeling good, and now that feeling is entirely gone with “getting” from the outside. How much does this play into politicians and policies? Just been thinking about it a lot. Maybe it has something to do with complexity and superiority complexes?

I heard from some MLs that they were dirty trotskyists/ites, but I have no clue and couldn’t give less of a shit if they keep up that website. They could be democrats for all I care, that website is fucking solid. IF you like audiobooks, anarchist librovox does a lot of good ones. Ran my first half-marathon yesterday and did it in 1:39:37. Pretty damn proud of myself, worked hard to train, then got sick as shit for 2 weeks, then only had 2 weeks more to prepare after. Still dying sore today but worth it
