It’s crazy how libs are championing this. /r/politics is calling it masterful 4-d chess, because apparently republicans have to either let the deal through and give Brandon a “win” or block it and give Brandon a talking point on how he’s tough on immigration but the republicans aren’t.

Bro THEY DON’T CARE. If republican hypocrisy had any negative impact on voters there wouldn’t be any elected republicans left.

Love to have the most progressive president since FDR push draconian immigration policy in an attempt to play a game of gotcha with people who don’t care in front of voters who don’t care

Man it’s a good thing structural violence isn’t a thing. Otherwise incremental reform (or more honestly, its vain pursuit under bourgeois democracy) would have its own death toll that is being assumed as the normal, immutable state of things

“There’s this wild disconnect between what people are experiencing and what economists are experiencing.”

Based Nikki reminding us economists aren’t people

There doesn’t seem to be any place on Reddit for us boring normal social democrats.

I mean, a lot of us are in the neoliberal sub.

Oh the one hand: “kitchen fire” makes it sound like like an unserious stovetop mishap vs a fire that happened to manifest in the kitchen after a lightning strike. Pretty disingenuous but it’s NYPost so not surprised

On the other: Whinging about how you nearly lost your classic sports car in a fire to people whose lives have been at worst destroyed or at best irrevocably altered is not a good look Brandon. Not doing much to beat the “out of touch Dem” allegations

The “Kubrick Stare" is one of Stanley Kubrick’s most recognizable directorial techniques, a method of shot composition where a character stares at the camera with a forward tilt, to convey to the audience that the character in question is at the peak of their derangement.
