I remember seeing a lot of people on reddit talking about how awful the sub was but I didn’t pay it much mind since it had a dumb name. Around the same time I was going through the typical ‘I don’t think there’s a place for me in American politics’ mentality. I was a Bernie supporter who hated liberal media, I was left-leaning but didn’t care for how uptight and precious a lot of left-leaning sectors were. I had weird takes on culture, yada yada. Eventually I guess I heard Chapo Trap House enough times to google it, then listened to the pod. My first thoughts were that they have really annoying voices but they’re the only people I’ve heard on a platform that probably wouldn’t be phased at all hearing me rant about stuff. Eventually the sub was the only reason I used reddit anymore.
