One of the main complaints I’ve heard from kids in my area around 10 years and up is that banning them from the internet is essentially isolating them. Most families do not have home phones any longer, so their only way to communicate is often via online apps.

I think setting reasonable limits is important, but it may also be necessary to make sure children still have ways to socialize with other children regularly outside of school. Granted, I know nothing of how this works in China and maybe it’s a non-issue there.

I don’t think it’s necessary to freeze it, but idk for sure if you’ll see a meaningful change in flavor or texture after freezing.

Usually you can store garlic long-term in a cool, dark place like with other root vegetables, but you need to dry it out first.

Here’s a link to a page on curing and storing garlic you’ve grown at home.

Have you tried growing garlic or onions yet? They are easy additions to your indoor garden that would go well with the other ingredients.

Power to your peppers!

Whataboutism and other signs of arguing in bad faith. Typical. Get some original content.

While there is some merit to looking at how a team performs and how this can be improved, this is not always the case. My experience with this as a worker and (previously) a supervisory position showed me that the bar for performance will always be raised.

You could be performing just as well or better than people previously in your position, but managers and capitalists will almost always push for more from you. Most think they need constant improvement and growth to justify their position and that of their teams and there can be a very real threat of losing your job because of this.

Just remember that your worth as a human is not tied to your job performance and the system you live in will always be squeezing you for more. You are not a robot. You are not a computer. Humans have limits and pushing yourself past those limits comes at the expense of the quality of your life.

Capitalism necessitates the exploitation of resources, including those of your body in the form of your physical and mental health. Do what you can to maintain stability and financial security in your life, but I suggest looking for work elsewhere if possible.

Side note…

Are you saying there are people anchoring/sinking barrels wrapped in barbed wire along the US border as traps for anyone trying to cross the border? I shouldn’t be surprised, that somehow racists managed to disappoint me even further, but here I am.

Someone should slip heart-hands Stalin into the end of this.

I’d say it’s mostly due to uncritically listening to whatever they are told and being part of a more-privileged portion of society that is subjected to less systemic violence.

Sure, some people DO just hold on obsessively to the idea that one day they will truly “make it big,” but it seems to me that many liberals are wandering around perpetually lost as to how to address their complaints about society. Once they become exposed to compelling evidence and logic that explains the contradictions they’ve been confounded by, they’ll slowly start asking more questions beginning with “why?”

After that, it’s just a matter of time before thinking, “what is to be done?” Maybe I put too much faith in humanity, but I believe most people want an egalitarian society but lack experience with critical thinking and have never had any exposure to the foundational theory exploring how to accomplish this goal.
