Jamelle Bouie has a take on Biden’s speech. I didn’t think he would push civility shit or have a shit take but I was wrong. Very wrong. Sad.
You know, watching the Biden address, I think he may have squared this circle politically by simultaneously showing his support for Trump’s recovery and reminding viewers that other notable and recent instances of political violence are all, well, associated with Trump and his movement. Totally possible that he ends being the one who benefits most politically by both tamping down the Democratic crisis and putting him in the limelight as the president.
He posted on Threads because he’s taking a temporary (or permanent?) break from Bluesky.

People keep saying that you underestimate Biden at your political peril – and frankly, a meme that you’re mentally incompetent isn’t terribly compatible with a thought process that allows you might actually be really, really clever.

In a way - I feel very disconnected to America. Right now I’m in the middle of binge watching the original Twilight Zone. I have no idea what current American pop culture is about. I assume I saw the words “Ninja Warrior” at Hexbear but I had no interest in it so I didn’t google.
