This is what Matt was talking about a while back; the othering of those who are getting sick and dying from Covid. Carlson is just laying the groundwork for people to accept the idea that dying of Covid is a matter of personal responsibility, and is thus something that we don’t need to and in fact shouldn’t do anything about on a widespread scale.
