So, alt and punk culture is - because that whole counterculture thing has always had left roots.
However, alt culture has started to go a bit hypebeast crazy - buying clothes that are mad expensive for name brand recognition value.
For me, I have some outfits that I think qualify as Brutalist fashion, if there can be such a thing. Utility fashion. I wear my big manual labour work boots, a sturdy black jacket, then trackies or cargos. It’s not meant to be pretty. Just comfy, and useful.
I have another outfit in mind that’s a sort of homage to USSR Space Exploration, but it’s not fully thought out yet.

I’ve only been here a week and seems like a lot of “Fellow leftists, explain to me how to be more like other fellow leftists” or “dae lets outline our crimes here”.
My post was more about just casual nattering, cos you don’t get much of that here, but with a leftist tie in because otherwise what’s the point of posting it in here over reddit.
That said I don’t think it’s bad to be easily identifiable to other comrades. I’d more happily introduce myself using different pronouns to someone with an alt fashion sense than some frat bro in a polo, cos fashion is tied to politics to an extent.
Idk and idc because politics is not a fashion but in my country everyone wears cargo pants and likes Gelert. A lot of leftists basically look like slavic rappers with less money. I like black but shopping and deciding what to wear is boring to me so I end up just wearing whatever I first encounter in my closet.
