I think they gave up when 2020 didn’t turn in to the collapse of civilization.but yeah I haven’t heard a peep from them either.

It’s pretty funny how right wingers view the second amendment as the equivalent of oxygen and water, when in reality all they do with that right is become a consumer to overpriced products and cheaply made meme flags and patches

Will always be incomprehensible to me. It’s like they were fighting with no understanding of what they were fighting for. How do you convince these people that fascism is bad for everyone not just minorities?

Dudes making max 150K (generous) defending power structures propping up an institution that exploits them. I’ve been meaning to read zizek when it comes to ideology because all though he’s problematic for other reasons imo, that phenomena is deeply fascinating

I get what you’re saying. I would suggest that the next level of analysis is acknowledging that once you get to ~US$80k and above as a Westerner (can debate the exact number), you’re comfortable enough to be satisfied, and this relies in part to the exploitation directed at the global south, as well as the Western underclass(es). Of course, this isn’t sustainable at all, but to many of these people (I guess same goes for liberals, so 99.9…% of these people) they recognize that the institutions exploit others more than they exploit them.

I guess this is what we call the “labor aristocracy”? Anyway, I think they perceive an interest in defending liberal institutions, cause they are mostly “correct” in doing so in the short term. They have no understanding of theory ofc so it’s all doomed to collapse anyway.

Labor aristocracy can be a controversial term that means different things to different people. Lenin used it how you’re saying, but it can also refer to certain rigid beuracratic labor unions of high earning workers (of which barely exist anymore anyway, so whatever)

I have a baby’s understanding of theory and even I can see it. I blame capitalist propaganda
