it’s been a while. i used to exclusively play cosmonaut mode since it’s super fun to do all the construction logistics and i love coming into a fucked up post-WW2 map and just slowly methodically building an economic powerhouse and improving everyone’s lives.
i need a refresher if anyone has a good link to one. since you can’t build anything i can’t build the “starter zone” next to customs and i have no idea how to get rolling.
Don’t have a guide, but last time I played there were some starter “buildings” you can place instant and for free. One of them should be a construction office. But there’s also free logistics, some storages, and gas station. Connect them with dirt road, buy vehicles. That should be everything you need to start building. If map is empty you have to get workers from customs too.
There are free buildings to get started. Try to get an export industry up quickly, even if it’s a minor source of income. Clothing and other labor intensive industries are good, then crude oil exports. To start a rail line you’ll need to buy a disassembled track builder and then truck it to your train construction office. Your border office is going to get really crowded, try to have stockpiles for important stuff on your side of the border, ie heating coal. I have killed everyone because the border was too busy.

I loved cosmonaut mode as well, though I preferred the 1912 maps and starting with horse mods and bootstrapping the economy from a pre-industrial village. Tsiolkovsky mode or something I think they called it.
