I thought it might helpful to get a beginner’s perspective since people struggle so much with figuring out how to get started and imagining the first steps

What’s the turnover currently like?

Is there any predominating feeling of apathy, defeatism, and dead-ending amongst your coworkers, or feeling like they’re stuck where they are and things will never get better? If so, how do you approach this?

Do you have plans to affiliate with a larger union? I’m at the very start of organizing the store I’m at and I don’t even know if we’ll be pushing for a union, but if we do its probably going to end up affiliated with UFCW which isn’t super exciting but I think we’re going to need a lawyer at the bargaining table.
