This was bound to be posted here eventually.
this a little creepy to anyone else?
Absolutely. With all they have to do even in a modern funeral to preserve a body, that person rarely looks like themselves anymore after they die. It’s real uncanny and this is only weeks later. I can’t imagining adding nearly 100 years to that. I’d want to be allowed to be forgotten by now, at least in terms of what my face looked like. Lenin didn’t care for the cult of personality that grew around him
I think open casket funerals are extremely weird, despite being very common in my area. As far as I’m concerned when I die my body should just be put in a pine box and buried as quickly as possible, assuming I’m not murdered and they need to do an autopsy. The entire funeral industry seems like a weird, ritualized scam. If people need some sort of closure when I’m dead then rent a space, print out a big picture of me, and gather round that.
You might enjoy The Midnight Gospel episode with Caitlin Doughty (As Death). She talks about how the modern funeral rites culture has its roots in profit-making
and they thought “Lenin lived, lives, and will live” was just a slogan haha
This was several years ago. By now he’s probably almost alive again.

American Psycho business card meme but it’s about Lenin’s skin.
keeping him in top shape until we develop the ability to build him a mecha suit and bring him back
