Uncritical support for conceptual artists working to separate the rich from their money

Some of it is. Most of it is the rich looking for social signifiers, or the rich trying to turn a profit when they’re hard up. Very little of it is making the artists money, so you have to celebrate the hustle-grift when you can.

Donate it to a museum valued at 100k. Instant tax write off.

Everyone wins.

I feel like 9 times out of 10 when you read a weird art headline like this something is being taken out of context.

Like maybe by “invisible sculpture” they mean this guy made some weird glass thing that can only be seen from certain angles which would actually be kinda cool. Not $18k cool but kinda cool, high art is mostly money laundering though.

Then that’s fraud. You can’t create a vacuum in the atmosphere without special equipment.

No, you can sell the idea of an art piece, and it’ll exists mostly as a set of instructions on what to do to display it

One could argue Ono invented the first NFTs and Lennon was her YokoNet.

I will forever rue the day she met John. She broke up the Beatles and didn’t even care.

Look at this wonderful piece of art: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdZ9weP5i68 This is what happens when no one tells you are bad at something.

Here’s a great breakdown by Bill Burr on John Lennon and Chuck Berry singing a song on television…and then Yoko happens. The look on Chuck’s face is priceless: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4K07Kz7M8Q

Possibly, it’s not a new idea by any stretch, some are on it’s face dumber than others.
