Little wacky how like the only good thing america ever did was fight the nazis but they turned around and gave a whole bunch of nazis citizenship and let them into the space program and military.

America’s clash with Japan (before and after Pearl Harbor) was always better explained by the phenomenon of two empires expanding into the same place. Like the Romans and the Carthaginians fighting over the Mediterranean.
