“I’m knittin’ like a fuckin electric nan”

Direct message

I just switched from Linux Mint to Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE). I was feeling like you; wanting to get away from Ubuntu dependency. I tried out Debian, but it just didn’t feel as comfy out of the box. LMDE is working great. I even enabled backports and updated the Kernel.

No shit, less than 3 hours ago at work, I heard a lady talking about not vaccinating her animals because it gives them cancer. I have previously heard the same woman talking about taking ivermectin. This story checks all the way out.

Beautiful. I would live to see some distros shipping something like this as the default.

I use Mint, but I don’t have much energy (or aesthetic sense) for customizing it. I’ve bookmarked this post though, and may copy it from you :)

I feel like this has changed a lot, actually. 8-10 years ago it was all IPAs, but now I can find all kinds of craft beer. Maybe it’s more of a west coast thing. I currently enjoy grabbing new Pilseners when I see them.

Grass is always greener my friend. I’m 45 and just starting my first “real job”. I’ve had a lot of fun, but I’m not super stoked to be looking at starting a career while my friends ponder retirement.

I’ve seen this sentiment a couple times. Care to give a brief explanation of what you mean?

Thanks for taking the time to lay that out for me. I can’t say I’m convinced however. While I don’t think that the nuclear family is necessarily a default human configuration, these criticisms seem very Euro/US specific. I definitely have a bias towards the nuclear family, but I am willing to interrogate that feeling. I guess I’ll have to go do some reading.
