A terrible smelly person

Direct message

The most insidious aspect of America (to me at least) is that whenever I voice these same exact concerns, most people treat me like an escaped lunatic. Hating cars might as well be like saying you hate oxygen. Saying I hate America outright just gives me snarky looks or a chud telling me to leave. Voicing any amount of concern for the homeless makes people wide eyed or dismissive. Saying I hate cops makes everyone go into panic mode and start dialing 911.

This whole country is like a psychology experiment designed to produce as much paranoia and alienation as possible. The vast majority of people I interact with either have no clue what I’m talking about when I voice my concerns or they’re instantly hostile. I’m so frustrated.

This video reminds me of when the Russian revolutionaries seized the palace and were looking through Nicolas II’s diary. Even though WW1 was occuring all the diary entries were about laying around and drinking, sometimes he’d go for a boat ride in the pond. Trotsky says something in the History of the Russian Revolution about how the Romanovs had completely pointless lives and were effectively already dead, I think

I was talking with a guy the other night who was telling me America had great public transportation. I asked what he meant and he cited a recent trip he had on Southwest airlines. I told him Southwest is a company, not a public service. He did a quick google and replied back with a Wikipedia screenshot that Southwest is a publicly held company. Then he told me FedEx is public too for the same reason and that it’s “federal.”

This is the level of discourse around transportation

A lot of these murderers openly admit how gullible and susceptible they are. It’s the same story with Qanon reactionaries too. They always tell a story that’s like “yeah i never really paid attention to politics or the news but then one day I saw a meme that broke my brain.”

Yes, that’s all it takes to radicalize them because they live their entire lives coasting on the basic assumptions of white supremacist imperialism without question and it destroys their mind to learn their ideology is in fact a particular ideology that can be put into words. It’s completely gibberish racist drivel, but it snaps their worldview into focus like they’ve never understood because they’ve literally never thought about it before. The racist gullible nonsense was already bubbling in their heads.

i know people here have talked about it before but the richest people alive take time out of their intensely unbusy schedule to argue with people on twitter

guy can take a private jet to any location on Earth or arrange for a call with any head of state and he’d rather show his whole ass and balls on twitter like the rest of us bozos

Liberal economics responding to Marxism is always some hypothetical like “Ok imagine you’re thirsty in the desert, but you only have two cows and your neighbor opens a flower shop.”

The most grotesque political shift I’ve ever lived through is the complete 180 the public has done on this guy. Libs love him and he should be buried in a hole. No, not even in Minecraft. Like after a criminal trial and sentencing.

Shovel. Unnamed forest path at 1 am. Buried alive.

Oh god, it’s this person again?

This person is completely obsessed with us and is always screaming for mods. No chill at all, needs to go take a break from the internet. Always making these huge posts full of citations and graphs and shit chronicling how impolite we are. I don’t even know what their politics are or anything but this has gotten really silly.

It always fascinates me just how broken and mangled the American psyche is now. We simply do not trust information unless it fits some prior instinct. There’s no social basis for understanding reality. Absolutely everything and anything is fake unless you witness it with your own eyes and even then it could still be a trick. People literally believe covid-19 is some globally coordinated conspiracy to make America look bad based on…absolutely no evidence at all.

Such levels of paranoia and skepticism have to be treated as a public health crisis. It’s legitimately frightening. My coworkers and family are so conspiracy oriented that basically nothing can be confirmed to be real outside of what happens in their own head. Covid-19 is killing people? Where’d you hear that? Oh, CNN? Not true. Not real. Fiction.

There’s a famine in Yemen? Oh, you saw that in the media? Not happening. Vietnam’s policies almost entirely contained the virus outbreak? Yeah, that’s what they want you to think. Try thinking for yourself instead of trusting some journalist.

I don’t know how to see this other than complete delusion. It’s alienation made manifest. Americans have become so detached that they don’t even recognize the perceptions of other humans as valid.

I really hate this attitude and there’s simply no counter to it. It really does drive me to the point of tears.
