I get where you’re coming from but the biggest city in Montana has like 100,000 people and it’s 90% white whereas Alberta has two cities of more than 1 million, around 60% white and like a third of the people in each weren’t born in Canada. I don’t think you can really flatten them down like that unless you’re just looking at rural culture.

It already does compete with air travel handily on plenty of these routes, but there are some really super cheap flights around the EU and HSR is still basically run like a profit driven business that has to recoup its significant capital costs (building the system). Flying can often be cheaper even if the time you take to travel is roughly the same or even comes out in favor of the train.

I totally get where you’re coming from but to be pedantic, the problem with the EU isn’t that it’s unelected or supranational, but instead that it’s a liberal bourgeois institution. As communists we shouldn’t have any respect for liberal nation states or “democracy” which is usually how we see these anti-EU arguments get presented by right wing populists.

I would honestly be more anxious about the idea of still having to be concerned about programmers being employed in a capitalist economy 20 years down the line. And even if it did happen that way, at that point you’re probably talking about the majority of post-industrial bullshit jobs being automated away, so programmers would be in the same boat as more or less everyone else outside of maybe like caregivers and tradespeople (many of whom would also end up being replaced).

Literally just a slice of life about grilling and all the kinds he can do, preferably in the iyashikei mold. cf. other works about occupations or hobbies like Yuru Camp, Bartender, Aria, etc.

Anything else would be unfaithful to his zen composure.

Herman Cain is the only “big” name I remember.

Silvio Berlusconi was also supposedly experiencing long term effects more than a year later, which is presumably true of a lot of ghouls whether they’re conscious of it or not. I can’t imagine it did anything positive for either Trump or Biden’s cognition.

STEMbrain inclines people toward thinking that social problems are optimization problems that could be solved if only leaders came to their senses and just tweaked and implemented the right policy, and techbros are also basically in the perfect material and intellectual position to internalize the homo economicus models that underlie econ 101 and its application to the housing market.

070 SHAKE • MILO • ROME STREETZ • CHARLOTTE ADIGÉRY

OUTKAST • KANYE WEST • DON L • BLACK STAR

I do love the idea of Kanye getting lowest billing on the day he performs

If you like Chinese or Indian influenced stuff check out these channels and choose something that catches your eye; I find they’re super easy to follow along as long as you have the ingredients / spices: https://www.youtube.com/@YEUNGMANCOOKING https://www.youtube.com/@RainbowPlantLife

This tofu tikka masala became probably my favourite dish after I made it the first time: https://youtu.be/u-KO1LIdKdE

1491 got recommended all the time on r/askhistorians as a rare good example of pop history since Mann was basically just summarizing relatively recent accepted academic writing on the subject in a readable way.
