Thank you! Ever since I switched jobs to work at Langley with the CIA it’s been so different because I have skin in the game. I have this reflex to look back and cringe, but I was doing the best with what I had. There were invaluable friends that helped me get through a shitty situation. But that experience with adrenachrome made it so foundational for me that problems with the healthcare system start at the top and trickle downwards.

You’d have to squint your eyes to call it a tangent, but I was playing Chrono Trigger for the first time yesterday for a couple minutes. You go back in time and you’re like “where am I??” These blue imps come out to confront you. With my modern, woke sensibilities I was like “oh, they must be curious about me. I wonder if they’ll be friends.” You immediately 1 shot them without exchanging a word. The art of story telling in games has comes a long way.

What would a pledge even do? Is it like buffing up a terrorism charge or making the murder aggravated or something? “They were so chill, they even signed a pledge! Now they’re a monster!!”

When I worked at the adrenochrome factory I would just insta sign training documents+continued education documents that came to me. It was actually a problem because they gave me some document and I called myself competent. I became part of a list for people who could help with something even though I didn’t know the first thing about it. My manager called me over to roll their eyes at me. I never suffered consequences but I guess that’s my point. Why wouldn’t you sign bullshit? I wouldn’t even read it before signing and getting back to the break room before my poop break.

Edit: they had us do self-assessment before some kind of annual check in with my supervisor. We were both checked out (they soon after got demoted from supervisor). I had given myself perfect ratings across the board for silly, bullshit reasons. Like I was a team player “because I say good morning to people”, 5 stars - exceeds expectations. Another eye roll without consequence

I would be shocked if the story started with more than 2 plates on the bar. I conjecture that he didn’t really need/bother to track progress (in that app) beforehand. Clearly he’s in some methodical, structured schedule and felt a desire to monitor it with precision. If you dedicate yourself like our comrade has you can go to the moon.

That’s such an exciting weight range. That’s in the thick of understanding why your form is so important. If you don’t keep the weight secure then it’ll take you back and forth or hurt your back. He’s a fucking SUPER SOLDIER

I think we should have a hot take community where you can have downbears. you’re banned if it’s too shit but you’re also banned if it’s too good. You need a 70:30 +/- 8 ratio of upbears to downbears, but you get some sort of treat if you succeed.

Perhaps there are 5 mod positions and you can kick out the mod with the oldest hot take if you pass the trial

I normally wouldn’t belabor the point but I feel you have a perfectly backwards view of what badposting is used for. It’s not supposed to be funny - otherwise it wouldn’t belong on badposting.
