It’s simple really:
A) The ottomans beat Serbia in Kosovo during the Middle Ages
B) Serbia beat the ottomans and with the help of Russia in the 19th century extended anti ottoman and unfortunately anti Muslim liberation struggles throughout the region
C) Europe constrains the Russians from taking everything and by doing that create a few frozen conflicts, with the Austria Hungarians moving on Bosnia Herzegovina and making it a unnatural powder keg
D) The powder keg goes off in the run up to ww1, with europe deciding to awkwardly step in for selfish reasons
E) stepping in backfires and just leads to europe siding with the remnants of the ottomans
F) Italy tags in as Russia recedes and decides they’ll do what europe always does
G) This predictably backfires as british imperialism focuses on getting read to secure the region before the Russians can
H) Once again the Serbs rile up their neighbors to organically resist
I) Once again Russia is contained
J) Once again the balkans is propped up via an unholy alliance (NATO Turkey and NATO Greece)
K) Russia recedes
L) Serbia tries to prop itself up via the oligarchal state sovereignty nationalist paradigm the west applauded everywhere else in the post soviet bloc
M) The house of cards collapses
N) Using admirably reactionary narratives and hopes that Russia will once again support them, the Serbs once again get ready to assert themselves with greater Balkan assistance.
The real difference this time is that NATO spread into Bosnia and is protecting Kosovo, two countries that really shouldn’t exist. Sure American and British planes will do the bombing, but it will be Albanians and Turks who will fight. Cue wild card Hungary and Russia moving in to assist and we all die.
Note that all Bosnia has to do to join nato is to make its autonomous Serbian portion submit to nato. That can literally be done by just saying that the Serbs are rebels under the control of Russia, aka what they wanted to do in Ukraine. That is the true danger of this
