Best thing about early adopting a new platform is that sweet sweet username selection
The lack of thread based communication on discord meant that one conversation would almost always dominated. Even on very small channels. say, music. one person wants to talk production, one person wanted to talk about this edm artist, another talking about a Scandinavian basket folk group, and only one of those actually gets responses before its left behind.
Although the 1m megathread channel really started feeling like a community/hug box which was nice.
I’ve been using vim for 6 years and I average one new keyboard shortcut a year. Honestly all I think I really need to know is tabs/windows, vertical select, and go to bottom of the file.
That being said its my main editor and I honestly feel like it makes me a better programmer to not rely on auto-complete.
Vim bindings in an IDE is a waste of time and never feels quite right. the timings are off which means I fuck up said bindings.
I’ve only tried vim bindings in VS code so that may be why my opinion is as it is. The work I do tends to not be limited by not using a full ide. Mostly running grep -re <string> in a directory to find references is just as fast as an ide search. I find switching to a mouse often while editing just so frustrating.

I’ve been listening to a bunch of japanese punk lately. Sambomaster, tricot, sparta locals, etc.
Also falling back on to old favorites like Shinobu, Chewing on Tinfoil, homecoming queens, and some BTMI.
I’m trying to write some music as well which I never ventured too far into but my amp was sitting for over a year and I think every tube in there is shot. It was dancing in and out of a distortion channel and was not inspiring confidence.
I wonder if this will effect firefox focus on android.
I use that as my main browser. Basically no tracking, incognito single tab that gets thrown away at the end of a session. Its great for searching for random facts but I usually switch to chrome for things that need more permanence. I’m actually not sure why I don’t have full firefox on my phone tbh.
