Thank you (for this comment as well as for the work you do as a volunteer ranger). It’s frustrating when people say “oh well, fire is just part of the natural cycle,” which is true in a basic sense, but naive of the complexity of the situation and misunderstands that the fires now and the effects they have are not the same as even decades ago.

I’ve lived in the same general area of California all my life and have had to repeatedly evacuate due to fires. On average, I’ve had to evacuate every other year since 2017, but never once before that. (I almost had to again only a few days ago but the >100 acre fire was contained quickly enough that I was only under warning for a day.) As a result of those fires, the biomes in the area have been completely altered.

The image in OP is what is toxic. Fostering a kind of echo chamber where the people who disagree with the prevailing narrative and bring reasoned arguments that contradict it get written off as “foreign agents” is extremely toxic, also nationalistic, and often borderline racist. It’s also childish. Pointing out how childish it is to tell someone “you’re just a RuSsIaN bOt!” because you don’t like what they have to say is definitely not toxic, quite the opposite.

What a laughable deflection. Politicians give a shit what the voting public in aggregate does, dipshit. If they don’t give a shit what you think, why are you advocating for one half of them? Why are you trying (and failing so bad it’s funny) to argue that people should vote for one team of them that you think are “less bad”?

but I’m not so far up my own ass that I don’t care about the consequences of my actions.

Like, do you really not care that you completely contradict yourself from one comment to the next, or hell, from one sentence to the next?

More people will die if Trump wins, and that is all that matter to me.

Meanwhile Biden & Harris fund a literal, undeniable genocide. You are such a clown I’d think it was impressive if it weren’t so disgusting.

If you think that’s supporting genocide then you can take you sick bizarro logic and shove it up your ass.

Yeah, refusing to vote for genocidaires is “sick, bizarro logic” but sending them your approval by voting and stanning for the genocidaires is “fighting fascism.” Nah, you can take your sick, twisted, fascist-apologist illogical rationalizations and shove them up your ass, you sycophantic loser.

And serious, how can you not understand even after RvW that doing nothing is still better for you than what the Republicans will do.

The republicans do it anyway!! The republicans do what they want, the democrats allow them to while raking in donations by telling everyone how mean the republicans are! It’s not that the democrats are better because they don’t do bad things but republicans do, it’s that they are both parts of the same machine that does these things, playing their respective roles! How can you be so fucking blind as not see the blatant “good cop/bad cop” routine for what it is?? And yet you are calling other people morons (ableist language by the way, asshole) for trying to get this very obvious reality through to you!

Doing other things than voting doesn’t stop you from voting. It takes 5 minutes every couple years. It is literally the least you can do

Voting for someone abetting a genocide (Biden, Harris) is endorsing that genocide. If the democrats win an election after funding a genocide, what kind of mesage is that sending all politicians, whether you like them or not? It’s telling them that they can commit genocide without repercussion, they can commit genocide and still have the support of the voting public. Voting for genocidaires (let alone defending them and trying to get others to do the same) makes you complicit in the current genocide as well as the ones that are sure to follow due to green light given to those who perpetrate them. You’re telling Democrats and any other politicians “as long as you give lip service to the things I care about - no need to follow through on them btw - then you can go ahead and murder entire nationalities and ethnic groups the world over, it’s ok, I’ll still vote for you.” Fucking disgusting.

There will be more after Trump and Netanyahu, and I will fight them as well. I will fight every fascist at every opportunity every time.

Why aren’t you fighting the other half of the exact same fascist machine then? Instead you insist on carrying water for the fascists that put on a civil facade. That’s not fighting fascism, that’s aiding it.

Why won’t you?

Oh fuck OFF. Nakoichi just fucking told you they have been doing REAL work to fight fascists for over 2 decades, but you completely ignore that. Such obvious bad faith.

It’s really just a bot filtering out things that could be perceived as “bad” for advertisers.

It’s definitely that, but also direct censorship for political reasons too. See the infamous visit that JT Chapman (SecondThought) got from homeland security to intimidate him for uploading a video titled “The CIA is a Terrorist Organization.” While technically that video is up on youtube somewhere, it is impossible to find unless you directly enter in the url. It is not searchable or findable via google, youtube itself, etc. From my understanding, mostly the bot filtering of things considered bad for advertisers just demonitizes the content, which is of course censorship too, but not outright removal. The “shadowbanning” of content often happens specifically to leftist political content and things like videos that encourage piracy.

Just going off your list: I never played Demon Souls, Uncharted, Ratchet+Clank, or Death Stranding, so no comment on those. Well, actually I started Uncharted and felt like I was watching a bad movie where I could make the main character run around and shoot sometimes. Didn’t feel like a game, so I gave up after a couple hours. Might have grown on me, but I didn’t care enough about what I did play to even want it to.

  1. I loved Horizon (ZD and FW). It wasn’t perfect, but it very much clicked for me. I really liked the feel and execution of the combat, I liked the world, I liked the main character, I liked the scifi backstory. Did not like the in-game contemporary human/tribe story lines at all though. (Sylens was cool though. RIP Lance Reddick.)

  2. Bloodbourne - took a while for me to get into it, but when I was able to “get it” I became addicted and loved it, though also found it very frustrating. However, I now understand why it is so praised and beloved and can mostly agree. I’m glad I decided to try it despite beforehand not wanting to because I was afraid it would be too difficult.

  3. God of War - It was definitely well made. Didn’t care for the boss fights at all. I did quite like the feel of the combat, the flow of the controls, which is important to me. Have not played the new-ish sequel. Honestly, I’m having trouble remembering the game and what I thought of it at the time, so I guess not too memorable.

  4. Ghosts of Tsushima - I… yeah, I enjoyed it. Mostly. But it was really wearing on me by the end, and I only kept at it due to a sense of obligation and sunk cost. It was fun for a while, but just felt so rote by the end. And all along it felt super gimmicky even for an open world game. It’s hard to summarize why without going into way too much detail. I had issues with the story too.

  5. The Last of Us - It had that movie thing going which I do not care for. However, I was able to get past that and enjoy it mostly. It did pass the time ok. Did not “feel good” to play though. Felt clunky and often tedious. Glad I played it, but think it was grossly overrated. The much-lauded story is just mediocre and cliche at best. Didn’t play the sequel.

  6. Spiderman - I admit I really liked swinging around the city. It felt good. But beyond that, fuck that game. Disgusting copaganda. Up with which I will not put. Like, Last of Us and Tsushima may have had their own kinds of reactionary themes, but Spiderman felt like a Clinton liberal and thin blue line chud set aside their differences so they could come together and make that abomination of setting and plot. Never finished it.
