I have made this point many times, but what is the point of this kind of behavior? It almost seems like instead of fascism we’re getting something even fucking worse. I really like how Brace Belden, The Dark Cowboy of Syria described ISIS as “an end of history” death cult that wants “nothing to exist” because I feel like that better captures what the current right wing seems to be heading towards. It almost feels like something broke in their heads and they realized that our current way of life is untenable, but they are so unwilling or unable due to a variety of factors (indoctrination) to conceive of anything better so they are just trying to tear it all down in this conflagration of outwardly directed frustration.

I work with this reactionary guy (literal 4chan Nazi) and I remember he was trying to get a rise out of my coworker by saying “Fuck the Amazon, let it burn” in response to him mentioning wildfires and I think this helps illustrate some of what I mean. Unless this man is so delusional he believes that the rapacious deforestation and overall destruction of the ecosphere will not have negative consequences in the future, there seems to be this desire to maximize human suffering.

We will ban all vaccines so we can all have polio again.

We will normalize genocide so that we can do violence to an ever expanding group of undesireables.

We will pollute as much as we can so a few people can make a few bucks and so that you won’t have any clean drinking water.

and so on…

What is even the project here? I’d argue that there isn’t one, and that the logical conclusion to basing your politics in opposition to that of others (when the other is posited as being based around an ostensible dream of progress) is eventually just antipathy to the very idea of existence in general

I just realized, the fact that they went through with this probably means that the pandemic is getting really bad, at least bad enough to be entering the cool zone anyway

Anyone else feel like cracks are beginning to show with regards to the legitimacy of the American™ project as a whole? I feel like everything has gotten so psychotic and everything on the ground just disconnected from the narrative that journos like this are starting to see that it’s all completely bullshit.

I worked at a Yum Brands restaurant and it was some of the most dystopian shit I’ve ever fucking experienced. It’s hard to convey in words, but all the little things, the inefficiency, the mismanagement and abuse I suffered for like 3 years (the first year working there was OK) seemed to plant the seed in me that this is all bullshit.

These restauraunts pay almost nothing and will hire almost anyone, so they have a bunch of people at the end of their literal and figurative rope. A store across town had two homeless people living out of it (employees) who would just not leave after their shift and would hang out in the supply room all day and if I remember correctly they slept there too. My store had a homeless teenager who would do the same, but he would leave after a while.

One time after nearly half the store quit we had a huge backlog of orders going back nearly two hours and a couple that worked there started screaming at each other and went outside to (physically) fight in the parking lot and smoke cigarrettes rather than deal with any orders, my supervisor and me were trying to figure this shit and like another employee just walked out and my supervisor quit the next day. People were getting belligerent and since the new manager we had didn’t know how to order and there is no oversight we had run out of multiple things and we had to basically tell people to write down their order and call corporate for a refund since none of us had the authority to refund credit cards.

So many weird, horrible situations like this happened during that time there because of how short staffed we were and because of the turn over rate. One of my coworkers started binge drinking to cope with it and had to go into the bathroom to pop Xans to avoid blacking out from panic since he had to work the drive thru completely alone all morning on top of having to open the POS system. Two of my coworkers would have sex on the roof. We had these extremely burnout highschool dropout kids who would get crossfaded in the supply room and then do insane shit like clean dishes with oven cleaner (which is not safe). At one point the entire store quit and I was the only employee on the roster besides the new manager, and there were times were I was the ONLY employee working.

There was a homeless couple living out of the dumpsters who would fuck on the disgusting ass grease covered floor and then leave their condoms.

I feel nothing but sympathy for these guys, even though I honestly hated a lot of the people I had to work with. It isn’t until you work with literal lumpen with felonies that you realize how much capitalism distorts and disfigutes people who would have otherwise been decent people given any other opportunities.

La realidad es que es un asco siendo un Estado Unidense
