Does getting an invite mean you can use it without paying? I stopped with Usenet like 15 years ago when my ISP stopped offering it for free. Not really interested in paying another subscription just to pirate stuff but if I can get an invite for free I’d love to check it again and see what all the fuss is about.

I downloaded that 200gb leak from national public data the other day, maybe not the biggest total but certainly the largest single text file ive ever messed with

DiskFresh sounds like placebo-ware.

You can benefit from replacing spinning HDDs with SSDs, or just newer HDD, but other than that there isn’t much much that you can do to actually prolong the lifespan of them.

Its not a violation, they’re just abusing the DMCA because they know people won’t/can’t afford to fight them.

The majority of people who use stripe probably dont even know it, good luck boycotting that.

Even if apps you use depend on play store one of the things you can do on GrapheneOS is temporarily disable it and only turn it back on when apps refuse to run, another option is just keeping those apps in a separate work profile.

Printer ink. I got a cheap canon printer and drilled holes in the ink cartridges so I can refill them using generic ink for 1/1000th the cost of what the printer companies charge.

There response seems to imply they had no idea theyd been complicit in piracy, as if there was some other use for them.

I’m a big fan, especially because it not only makes my “profile” much harder to identify, it also costs the advertisers more. Anything that harms advertising is a good thing IMO.
