True story. We have TVs going in the hallways at work. Sound was off and one guy was mesmerized by the woman giving a report on the local all news channel.
When the commercials came on he said, 'that weather girl is pretty damn hot."
“She’s a lot hotter than you realize.”
“How do you figure that?” he asked
“That wasn’t a weather report, it was a traffic report.”
Two things.
One, Noah was a drunk and King David killed a man so he could date the widow. God often uses bad people to do his work. That’s why they are fine with Trump’s scandals.
Second, colonizing was a good thing because it brought Christianity to the Dark Continent.
Just explaining the ‘thought’ process. Don’t shoot the messenger
Apparently there are two kinds of white people in America.
Those who consider oregano a wildly exotic spice, and those who buy gallon jugs of a sauce that doubles as aligator poison.
[off topic?]
I read a story about TOS. A company was building automatic doors. Someone wrote to the production asking how they got their doors to work so flawlessly.
Two Union workers was not the answer the company was hoping for.
I’m amazed that 49% support it.
In 1960 US minimum wage was $1.00/hour and the cost of the average house was $11,000.00* A high school grad could move out and be self supporting instantly.
*Unless you’re ready to prove that inflation is the reason houses today are larger and have things like air conditioning, don’t tell me that modern houses are ‘better.’
The quote comes from a science fiction novel called ‘Beyond This Horizon.’ Written by Robert A. Heinlein.
In the book, the government encourages particular couples to wed because of eugenics. A waiter spilling soup in a restaurant leads to a gunfight.
Heinlein loved throwing crazy idea around.
I don’t know who said it first.
A true Englishman is someone who drives a German car to pick up an Indian curry, then uses a Korean built PC to send an email denouncing immigrants.
