HTML used to be a pretty set standard, maintained by the W3C. HTML5 was retired in 2018 (5.2 in 2021). Now it is a Living Standard that changes often and is maintained by a consortium of browser vendors.

It is also not the only technology being changed.

That is an apt description for Lunduke.

Making a low effort argument against a straw man that was never stated. You sure you aren’t a conservative?

No, I disagree with the idea of digging into years of history to drag up the one thing to be mad at and bandwagon over with a loud mob with surface level care that move onto the next bandwagon in a week. Typical to Twitter behavior. Doesn’t actually help anyone, typically hurts the movements they claim to support among everyone else.

I’m about the farthest from Lunduke you can get, he’s just not wrong in this specific instance. You don’t know me, “you sure do sound” is a silly attempt at internet games. Yawn.

Difficult to fix if exploited.

Can be patched beforehand.

It’s not just the title that is poorly written. The entire thing is written like “the sky is falling because memory chips and big computer stuff has a broken”.

Outside of the meme, the only people who make it their personality are generally younger and less experienced users who feel extremely empowered and proud by doing anything useful on the command line. Not like those users on Ubuntu (which they just switched from) who install stuff from a store like losers, nuh uh.

Before Arch you had the same type of people on Gentoo feeling superior because of use flags and watching hours of compiler output, after switching from Mandrake.

I did 1. I also don’t have as much patience for fiddling with or upgrading things, so it was the easiest. I don’t play that as much either, different priorities and limited time each day.

I still like complex stories, but my unfinished pile is much larger than it once was. I also play things on easy more than I might have in the past because finishing it is more fun than the challenge to me now.

These are standards. If it worked differently it would be using a different networking protocol.
