Hey look at that, Pfizer doing a blog post mentioning immune dysregulation

Studies looking at immune dysregulation, which occurs when the body can’t control an immune response, in individuals with long COVID have found T-cell alterations, including exhausted T cells and reduced CD4+ central memory cells. Studies have also reported “highly activated innate immune cells,” but a lack of naive T and B cells. These cells all play an important role in helping the immune system fight off current and future infections

I wonder when the “oopsie” moment is gonna come for all this

Thanks comrade It’s a cliche, but my kid and her disability have made me a better parent and person, and have helped unravel so many of the brainworms capitalism gave me.

I love my disabled comrades, and want nothing more than the just society that communism would bring them.

From The Guardian:

A person who was part of the same tour group as King told CBS they had just visited a building then “this man gives out a loud, ‘Ha ha ha’, and just runs in between some buildings.” CBS cited the witness as saying military personnel reacted quickly but initially there was confusion.

being the parent of a disabled kid really is an eye opener for seeing how broken and ableist education is. Just endlessly having to advocate for my kid’s rights, with a wide cast of folks shrugging their shoulders and passing the buck on making sure that she gets the services she needs. I even had a school principal try to imply that my kid couldn’t attend their school because of her disability, which is very illegal. I wonder how many times that’s worked in the past for them.

I’ll have to give TrueAnon another go to listen to this. The notion of AI being a thought terminating device (excellent thread btw) resonates deeply with me - from playing with GPT4 at work, I find myself thinking less about what is right, to what I should be prompting the model to generate that feels right. And given the model can’t reason - it can only ever produce believable looking text - I’m trapped in a loop of trying to refine nonsense. Even using it as a sounding board to try and spark ideas from, it distracts from effectively writing cohesive, well reasoned prose for technical documentation.

When you consider the deleterious effects of GPS navigation on the hippocampus/spatial memory, the mind boggles as to what technology under capitalism is going to do to everyone’s brains in the next 30 years.

I thought “nice, a movie about birds and gardens, is this going to be like The Big Year” and then saw it was supposed to be horror and from me

Fuck. I don’t think I’ve ever browsed lemmygrad, let alone posted there.

Is there anything I should be doing? I’ve tried resetting my password but the form seems broken. I guess this might be a sign it’s time for me to retire this account?
