GNU Taler looks neat. Hopefully it will take off.

The optional part of the donation payments is what makes them a donation. It can be a fund page, like the buymeacoffee, if the git link is too complicated (which it can be for some).

No, I understood what theyโ€™re trying to do. As far as I know, there are no foss payment processors, so adding a non-foss one would defy fdroidโ€™s current foss-first approach.

Then, people on this postโ€™s comments are saying that they would be good with a โ€œpay what you can/wantโ€ concept, but, again, thatโ€™s already the case with donations. Itโ€™s literally how donations work.

I never expected this. What a shame.

Edit: the ads part are not an acceptable add-on for me, as someone who respects privacy and foss. I donโ€™t know of a single foss payment processor (lmk if one exists). A lot of people here are saying โ€œpay what you wantโ€, but itโ€™s that way now, with GitHub donation links; we donโ€™t need this in the fdroid app.

I use Bitwarden for personal, and Keeper for work. Both great so far.

Mozilla wants us to love Firefox again? Ok, well, itโ€™s actually pretty simple: treat us like customers users, instead of products again. Make the product for us, not for the corpos. Strange how betrayal turns a friend into a foe, isnโ€™t itโ€ฆ

E: changed customers to users, as another user here suggested the difference between them. (thanks, fellow lemming!)

Getting shot in the feet is technically better than getting shot in the stomach, but is still a bad option.

It was one of the best movies of its time.

I actually use fakespot a lot, but will never install an add-on for this.

I got that notice a few months ago, but I didnโ€™t use either button on the bottom. I used the X on the top, and havenโ€™t seen it since.

<rant>I thought we were done with the age of Toolbars, but here we are, back there. An app or add-on for every damn thing. No, I donโ€™t want this integrated into my browser. No, I donโ€™t need your HTML5 app on my phone to do less than the webpage does. No, I donโ€™t want your spyware app to view the one-off Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram link a friend sends me. No, I donโ€™t mean โ€˜maybe laterโ€™, I mean โ€˜no foreverโ€™.</rant>
