Sadly I don’t think cars will ever go away. Even if we find a way to teleport people they will probably build personal teleporting spaces, because sharing something with poor people is not possible.
Japan is going to embargo the US, so they’ll have to keep retro 2020s cars in good repair, and eventually they’ll get painted pretty colors and become a tourist thing
I find the Japanese government my favorite in terms of contrast. It can be highly forward looking and implement large plans both domestically and internationally. It’s happy to make deals with anyone. At the same time massively corrupt with hilarious scandals and so backwards you get open sexism and a complete failure to understand anything software.
You how in TV and movies when ever you see giant underground complexes you think “How the could they have built that without anybody noticing?” I assume this is what it would really look like.
Holy fuck you could have all of those in one, small, multi-story parking garage. NA infrastructure is designed by children I swear.
Furthest parking space in the lot on the top right is half a kilometer away from an entrance lol.
The agents who have to use that parking space are the same ones who get tasked with monitoring this site.
The bus stop there is closer to an entrance than some of those parking spaces
Imagine building your car centric infrastructure shitty enough you not only manage to create a last mile problem for a parking lot, you actually manage to have it be worse than the one for public transport in the US
