The breakup of Yugoslavia is super sad because not only did it absolutely obliterate the politics of the Balkans but also because how so much of it was swept under the rug of history and it’s genuinely hard to find who were the good and bad guys of that entire ordeal.

A whole lot of Nazis helped the Serbian side too. Shit was basically nazi infighting. I know for instance that lots of prominent Golden Dawn members actually volunteered in Srebrenica. It’s such a shame what happened to Yugoslavia. Balkan nationalism is horrible.
Sure the serbs were no angels. It just shows the apparent ineptitude (or surgical competency) of our foreign policy.
Like there’s no excuse to supporting any intervention when intervention in the past has led to supporting actual fucking Nazis lol. I know you probably agree with this, but many don’t and I’d wager to bet they might if they learned about Yugoslavia.
Yes, I agree, what the US did there was pretty horrible, bombing hospitals etc. The entire thing was fucked.
