Just finished the final book.

Ended a bit anti-climatically but I think the author almost acknowledges this in the way it’s written, and sort of incorporates it into the world building and character development.

But yeah very solid SciFi series with great world-building, good characters, some interesting things to say about things like imperialism and the person-hood of artificial intelligence. Also one of the better “weird aliens who are never shown but always alluded to” presentations ever.

Just a suggestion for anyone.

Unbelievable that a 45 year old woman busted this shit out as a debut novel after being a stay-at-home mom for her adult life. Never think you’ve peaked.

Lol yeah I was surprised when I looked the author up and she looks like my fucking aunt. I was convinced she’d be some younger SciFi protege, but nope she just wrote short stories from home for years before finally trying to do a full length book.

There was actually a new book set in that universe last year as well as another book (Provenance) that’s separate from the main trilogy.

Yeah I was considering picking those up but I think I’m a little burnt out for now.
