Twitter could use a dislike button.

Not for each tweet, just the one.

Musk is extremely reddit-brained, I’m surprised it took this long to introduce dislikes/down votes

Why didn’t he just buy Reddit instead again? Is this like NYC and it’s trash situation? Can’t see the forest for the trees or w.e.?

Reddit and other sites of the link-aggregator-forum hybrid model are built on developing communities. Microblogging is a much more individualist approach and Twitter especially is built on developing followings for prominent people to have a soap box with a large audience. The only site that is comparable in terms of developing cults of personality is youtube and Musk had no hope of buying that.

Twitter is already one of the most draining sites as is, dislikes are gonna probably kill someone out of a stroke in their subconsciousness

Also - I’m sure that somehow Elon’s algos will allow right-wing bots to mass downvote freely. Some rando will say that they tweeted “Nazis suck” and within 60 seconds they had ~100 downvotes. And they’ll say after they tweeted a screengrab of that - both tweets were removed without explanation.

Looking into it.
