Sylvia Rivera, born on July 2 in 1951, was a Latina American queer rights activist, member of the Gay Liberation Front, and community worker from the state of New York.

Rivera, who identified as a “half-sister”, participated in demonstrations with the Gay Liberation Front. With her close friend Marsha P. Johnson, Rivera co-founded the Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries (STAR), a socialist group dedicated to helping homeless young drag queens, gay youth, and trans women.

At different times in her life, Rivera battled substance abuse and lived on the streets, largely in the gay homeless community at the Christopher Street docks. Her experiences made her more focused on advocacy for those who, in her view, mainstream society and the assimilationist factions of the LGBT community were leaving behind.

Rivera died during the dawn hours of February 19th, 2002, at St. Vincent’s Hospital, of complications from liver cancer. Activist Riki Wilchins said this of her: “In many ways, Sylvia was the Rosa Parks of the modern transgender movement, a term that was not even coined until two decades after Stonewall”.

K, can someone here help me think of a way I can stop the power button of my Switch console from getting pressed. I have a bag I keep it in and when I pull it out the battery is frequently dead because I’m assuming the power button is getting pressed when I put it into the bag or it gets pressed when the bag is moved around or something. I took it home fully-charged and powered it off and left it alone all day and the power drained like 2-3% maybe so it can’t be that. Maybe I need to recalibrate the battery or something, but I’m suspecting it’s the power thing 'cause it’s hacked and I have auto-RCM (no power-using sysmodules installed as far as I know) and I suspect it’s entering that state and then sitting there with the screen off but drawing way more power than usual.

I was hoping they made 5mm little switch covers like this but they don’t make them that small. I could just adhere it to the top over the power switch.

So can’t do that. I have a really nice grip on the console already so I won’t/can’t buy a case that would shield the power button. I guess I could buy a thin one and then out the chunk around the power/vol buttons and glue that but that would look like shit and be very irreversible so I’m not doing that. Can’t really think of any sort of cloth or cover I could drape over it since the power button’s kinda’ sensitive and close to the surface. Don’t think there are any power button mods, especially for someone with 3/10 soldering/electronic skills like I have.

Unless there’s some other button combo that can turn the device that I’m not aware of like the volume buttons, home button, etc… Is this a common problem for them?
