I know about lemmygrad.ml, but not sure what the devs are trying to do. Are we trying to merge the sites into one? Or are we just trying to be in full communion :jesus-cleanse:

trying to bring the site’s codebase with all our hastily built custom shit in line with mainstream lemmy’s codebase
at the moment it is basically incompatible, so one of the main reasons for lemmy’s existence (federation) doesn’t work

the site is already a fork of lemmy, the devs are trying to bring it closer in line with basic lemmy so that federation and the new stuff lemmy has now works
i guess the existing codebase is so far deviated that they think it’ll be easier to just re-fork lemmy again instead of reworking the existing code
