the responses in this thread are kinda funny. aoc votes against the bill citing massive military spending increases, but people think its a conspiracy that theyre trying to trick you to think this is good lol
its fine to just say its good she voted against a bill that has $860B military budget and $50B for war in Ukraine and used it as a way to speak out against military spending. idk whats w the weird sweaty responses tbh.
ppl think theres some elaborate conspiracy as opposed to just poor politics and disorganization among these reps in the squad that results in them doing dumb shit without actually working collectively in a real party
a meaningless vote isn’t good or bad, it’s nothing. she didn’t vote for this? cool. I didn’t personally murder anyone today between the hours of 5am and 3pm. that’s how low of a bar that is.
the squad, for all the credit they get from more liberal communities than this one, vote for a bunch of awful shit all the time.
Who care
You’re going down a dangerous path with this anti-AOC rhetoric buddy. If you don’t support her you’re pushing people into qanon /s
wow epic meaningless no vote that she’d prolly capitulate on if this vote actually threatened the ruling classes interest
She would also release a tear-stained apology explaining why “gosh, I just had to align with the corporate and cia ghouls on this one you’re not allowed to be mad at me!”
aoc is just doing what the unions told her
This is tangential but I think it’s funny lol.
A week or so ago, Ryan Grim (doesn’t really matter who he is, he’s a progressive media guy associated with The Intercept) was yelled at by Kshama Sawant on a podcast about defending The Squad et al’s vote on breaking the rail unions’ potential strike. Key to this is Ryan - and libs in general - kept insisting that the union LEADERS of these big fairly libbed up unions actually represent the workers. And I think online/twitter he kept getting attacked on this.
So, Ryan Grim has another YouTube show where he brought on a union leader (here if you care) who said “yes, AOC/Corey Bush/whoever is only doing what unions told them to do and you are correct and nice Mr Grim.” And it is so obvious that he brought him on the show because he was still hurt that people to his left called out the “progressive” squad about breaking the strike - he seemed especially hurt because he personally identifies with these people instead of thinking of them as a roadblock.
